Aims of the Post


To support the Project Manager in the administration, development and delivery of activities and programmes, and to provide administrative assistance to the volunteer/peer mentor project.

The successful applicant will have good ICT and communication skills, be motivated, enthusiastic and have a flexible approach to work.  They will have a strong personal commitment to the aims and objectives of Women’s Work.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities Project Support Officer


  • Assist with the development and delivery of the workshop and activity    timetable
  • Assist in the induction and the provision of on-going training for volunteers and peer mentors
  • Provide administrative support to the volunteer/peer mentor project
  • Support individuals to access and use, services and facilities
  • Befriend and mentor vulnerable individuals
  • Be a contact for activities and programme enquiries
  • Keep up-to-date with relevant new legislation, policy and practice
  • Ensure that all work is effectively recorded and monitored in line with the organisations requirements
  • Provide assistance in the production of statistics and reports as requested
  • Operate as an effective member of the team
  • Adhere to policies and procedures and promote Health and Safety in the workplace
  • Support the needs of distressed and /or vulnerable individuals
  • Contribute to the development, dissemination and promotion, both internally and externally, of information relating to activities and programmes
  • Attend team meetings
  • Work flexibility with occasional weekend and evening work
  • Keep up-to-date with relevant new legislation, policy and practice
  • Promote the equality, diversity, rights and responsibilities of individuals
  • Work within the agreed confidentiality policy and other policies of the project
  • Any other duties as directed by your line manager in order deliver the outcomes of the project

NVQ level 3/A level.



Teaching/training qualification.

Administrative qualification

Ability to build rapport with other team members, staff and service users

Good interpersonal and all-round communication skills

Excellent organisational and planning skills



3.  Knowledge/Experience


Experience in a similar role.


Experience of supporting vulnerable women

Experience of working with volunteers/peer mentors

5.  Circumstances/special demands of post


Demonstrate the ability to effectively work with people regardless of their ethnic, cultural, social backgrounds, their age, religious belief, disability and sexual orientation.

The ability to work with little supervision


Valid UK driving licence

The closing date is 5 pm on Wednesday 5th July 2017 and interviews will take place on Monday 24th July 2017.
